Most of the traditional clothing was made of moose and deer hide.The most common being the tunic, loin cloth , leggings and moccasins. In the winter time, bear fur was widely used, they also wore mittens , special coats and fur/skin hats. Algonquians wore a lot of animal fur/skin clothing along with tree fibre. In bad weather instead of moccasins they would wear cloaks. They used fish and birds to make clothing. They used shells, stone and paint to decorate their clothing.

Material used had to be light and easy to transport.Canoes were made of birch bark, sewed with spruce roots and rendered water proof by the application of heated up spruce resin and grease. During winter, toboggans were used to transport material and people used snowshoes to get around. For babies tackinagan were used to carry them. In the fall, spring and summer they used canoes as well as walking.
