Algonquians did not live in teepees they lived in wigwams. Wigwams are small dome roofed houses. Wigwams are made out of wooden frames which are covered with woven mats and sheets of birch bark . They are usually 8-10 feet tall. Algonquians farmed and hunted. They ate wild birds, deer, moose, rabbit, buffalo, squirrel, seal and whale. Men hunted caribou, beaver, otter and other animals. Women gathered roots, seeds, wild rice, nuts, grains and berries. Women also grew corn, beans, some fruits and veggies, like squash and apples.
